Office building on the Neckar

For a new five-story office building on the banks of the Neckar in Esslingen, Kanteplan provided the complete structural design in hybrid construction: reinforced concrete cores combined with wood-concrete composite ceilings.

The Task

The client wanted a sustainable building with visible wood surfaces, flexible office spaces, and certification to a high energy standard, all within a tight schedule.

Our Solution

The hybrid construction method combines the spans and sound insulation of solid construction with the carbon footprint of timber construction. Fire protection and thermal insulation certificates were developed parallel to the structural design, keeping planning and approval on track.

The Result

A flexibly usable office building with a visible timber structure, approved without additional demands and completed within 18 months.
