Which proofs the GEG specifically requires

For the building application, proof of the primary energy demand, the structural thermal protection of the building envelope, and the use of renewable energies must be provided. After completion, the declaration of compliance is submitted to the authority. Anyone who integrates the proofs early in the planning stage avoids expensive adjustments shortly before submitting the application.

GEG in existing buildings: What applies to renovations

The law also applies to major renovations: if components such as the facade, roof, or windows are replaced, they must meet the requirements of the GEG. In the event of a change of ownership, there are also retrofitting obligations, for example for insulating the top floor ceiling.
